Rev. Butler's Mission in Botswana

August 22, 2005:

We were advised this morning that Father Brendan Butler has passed away. Father Butler has been a long-time Mission Circle missionary and his last location was this mission in Jwaneng, Botswana.

Sr. Nalini of the Sisters of Charity corresponded with us with this testament: "I had the privilege of working with Fr. Brendan in Jwaneng. I have never seen such a great missionary as Father. When I came to Botswana in 2000 Father really helped me to know the country and the culture. I was so much afraid to work with those with HIV/AIDS and Father inspired me to work with the sick. As a result, now I am full time working with the sick. It is Father who introduced me to your Mission Circle. The passing away of Father is a great loss for us in Botswana.
